Today I Went to Church

Today, I went to church.
It was harder
than I imagined.

I listened,
but her voice
was silent.

I tried to sing,
but only managed
tears.

Were you there
when they laid Him
in the tomb...

No,
but I stood
at my beloveds grave.

Were you there
when He rose up
from the grave...

No,
but through Him
I know hope.
